This is best used indoors, but could be used outdoors. If you have it outside, it's best to try to keep it out of direct sunlight as it may fade over time.
This is designed to be hanging vertically - it has two iron grommets on one end only. But if you wish to make it horizontal, you can be please understand there is only two grommets on one end, there is no official way to hang it horizontally.
